New Galloway Community Enterprises is recruiting again!
We are seeking 2 or 3 Shop Assistants for our Community Shop on an initial 2-year contract. £7.50/hr, full employment rights. Hours and rotas to be agreed with the successful candidates.
This is a very exciting opportunity to join our project at the very start. The Shop Assistants will be critical to the success of our plans. The role will combine professional retail duties with being a key person at the hub of our small community. A welcoming, accessible approach is critical, as is the importance of keeping confidentialities while still communicating village news. The Shop Assistants will at times run the shop on their own.
You will ideally be experienced in working in retail or face-to-face customer service and have some team-leadership experience. You will be self-motivated and have sound judgement, capable of running the shop business on a day-to-day basis alone. As a key member of staff, you will be fully bought into the ethos of Community Benefit societies and the aims of New Galloway Community Enterprises.

Interviews commence 26th June 2017
In March 2017, the NGCE team learned that they had been successful in applying for full Big Lottery funding for the project.
This grant allowed them to take on a number of professional consultants to take the project forward into a fully operational business.
The professional team for the Renovation Phase are:
Helen Keron (New Galloway) – Project Manager
Marc Henkelmann (Kirkcudbright) – Architectural Consultant
Andrew Crossan (Dumfries) – Quantity Surveyor
The team of consultants is supported and guided in its work by the voluntary Management Committee of NGCE.
